Confidence is one of the best accessories ANYBODY can wear, I know we’ve heard it for women mostly, but men can wear confidence. There is is a difference between confidence and cocky.
Confidence: a feeling of self-assurance arising from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities.
Cocky: conceited or arrogant, especially in a bold or impudent way.
Confidence is something that reflects are self-esteem, and many people have damaged self-esteem from the emotional abuse they’ve been through, bullying, or being too concerned with what others think, all of these things can cause a man or woman to have low self-esteem and lack confidence.
Typically with confidence, you can tell someone has confidence in the manner in which they speak, the way their carry themselves, and even the power and strength when they speak. Someone who is cocky, usually you can only tell when they speak or possibly their actions, depending on how boisterous those actions are.
What does confidence have to do with your power? Everything. They work together, when you are confidence you are able to carry yourself with a trust in your internal power and strength. When you are walking in your power, your confidence radiates in your thoughts, words and actions.
How can you regain your power and walk in confidence?
3 easy steps.
1. Be Authentic. This is hard, I know. We worry about what people think or will say if they know YOU. That they won’t understand who you are, why you have those opinions, or why you do those things? Right? Who cares. Stop worrying about the things you cannot control. And this includes what people think about you, what you do or who you are. Their opinion of you should not matter to you. Why you ask? Because w4e already have too much to worry about, why are we worrying about things that are out of our control. You will attract those who deserve to be in your circle.
2. Establish and Maintain Routines. It takes 21 days to establish a routine. So figure out what is the best routine for you each morning and at the end of each day that allow you to have time to yourself, self-care, and personal growth. Routines are how we are able to build and maintain that internal power and personal strength that we need to carry us through each day.
3. Grow. We own our power by being able to grow. By seeing that we always have room for improvement and giving us the ability to grow. This allows you to always have that confidence, the humility (which keeps you from being cocky) and the authenticity to grow with each step of your life. We are always growing, changing and evolving. This keeps us moving, growing and owning the power that we have. We remain confident and strong through each phase of growth.
Your power is yours. You own it. So how about you really own it?
